Strategies for parents, carers and guardians

Learn how to empower yourself and your child with Vickie Simos

Have you tried Martial Arts Therapy?

1. Do you want help setting goals, which will give you more time with yourself and the people you love?

For some of us, setting goals can be difficult, if the goals we set are unattainable, when we don’t reach them, we become disappointed and default. What Martial Arts, specifically boxing have taught me is that you have to take small steps, small steps combined, make for larger steps and growth.

2. Want to feel less stressed and understand your children better?

Sometimes verbal communication doesn’t always reveal what’s hidden beneath.  Rather it’s what we don’t hear that tells us more, and that’s something Martial Arts brings out in a young person. This is also something that can help you.

3. Want to connect with a like-minded community?

You are not the only parent that has struggles. I have access to parents who are happy to share their similar experiences.

4. Identify your own behaviour and triggers?

It’s a hard pill to swallow, but let’s be honest some of children’s fears come from our own.  The more empowered you become, the more empowered they become, and this is something I can help you attain.

5. Do you want to help empower your child? By empowering yourself, you can help empower your child. Having worked with young people in the last two decades, specifically youth justice correctional, I understand anti-social behaviour and can provide strategies to deal with
those behaviours.

6. Do you have an outlet when things get tough?

Sometimes when things get difficult at home or at work, we don’t have a release. What normally happens is, we either take it out at home or work. I can provide you with an outlet that not only provides you with a physical release, but a place you feel safe and learn skills.

7. Do you want to spend more time with your children?

Martial Arts Therapy can be undertaken individually, in groups, and with your children.

8. Do you need a confidence boost?

Martial Arts Therapy will bring out your best and grow your confidence.
